"Hi-yo, Silver! Away!"

I bought myself a bike.

I bought one for my offspringess too, but mine had to be taken out of a box and put together - so I had to wait to use mine.

Yesterday evening my brother came, carrying toolbox, and we assembled my new bike. He screwed it together while I was asking 100 questions and we pumped the tires and went into the parking lot.

Butterflies in my stomach already got dizzy from excitement.

I climbed up and tried to ride. It went well.

I tried the brakes. I tried to come off of it and to leave it by the fence. I already tried to lock it and it works.

Then my brother took it for a spin and he was pleased. He said: "We're done here. I'm going!"

So he went off.

And I stayed in my parking lot and rode it for a few laps between the cars. The neighbour, the talkative one, asked from his balcony:

"Is it a new bike?"

And I said "Well it is!", teary-eyed and happy. "I has been 20 years since I last had one. And now I can even ride it anytime I like, I can ride it to the store and I can ride it to cool off."

Neighbour laughed jovially at my happiness and then he and his wife watched me spin through the parking lot.

I rode it through our parking lot, and then one parking lot more, then down the street. Gravel was singing under my tires, my hair was flying, air was buzzing by my ears.

I rode it up and down the street once, twice, countless times. I smiled and rode it until the night came and then I was a bit sad I don't have lights on my new bike so I could ride it in the dark.

I am pleased. I will procure some lights.

WB Tetris starts Now!

For our new home I decided for achromatic weave theme - white and black warp for our colorful lifestyle weft.

I fell in love with this sofa-bed right in the beginning of our furniture search two months ago and I went and bought it last week. It just arrived today.

It is even more beautiful than I remember it.

Fragaria vesca

This weekend we had some time for a nature walk so we tried our new zen-bubble for size and went strolling through meadows and groves.

Furniture is coming along nicely - I found nicest sofa and carpenter who already made children's room furniture for us came and took measures for kitchen and closet. We bought kitchen appliances and spent Saturday cleaning and washing the apartment.

I can hardly wait when we'll move in.

New Beginnings

So here are The News - reason I was such a bad blogger recently:

I have bought us new home!

The picture above shows my new set of keys along with lovely "i" pendant my friends from work bought me for my birthday. The flat itself was a glorious "gift to myself" as I incidentally signed contract exactly on my birthday.

There were millions of documents to collect and turn in and collect again and sign and copy and solemnize. We have just got the keys, my offspringess and I, and now we're on the lookout for perfect furniture for our nest.

Handsome Furs at Tvornica 30Sep2011

Last night it was my third time to watch Handsome Furs.

I went to see them at Teatar &TD in 2008.

I have also watched them play at KSET in 2009.

They warm my heart and align the world to be better, friendlier and love-filled place.

There is a shout on the event page on last.fm (in Croatian) saying something like: "this attractive furries like us very much, it would seem :-)" and it would seem that they really, really do - and we love them back just as much.

Yesterday there were so many people at Tvornica Furs were frenzied with joy - almost so overwhelmed with happiness they shared half as much stories between songs (from what they usually do) with us but they were magnificent nevertheless. It is a celebration of love and of work well spent and of passion and of life to be with them there, for a brief moment forgetting the toil of everyday existence and being filled up with positive vibrations, with beauty of music and success of people who show - from performance to performance - that they richly deserve all the success they can get.

S&G muffins

As my painful back saga continues I woke up waaay too early again and decided to make myself useful by making some gourmet breakfast for the entire household. Lovely muffins pictured above are final result of this way of thinking. For muffin basis this time I used leavened dough with yeast, one that I would normally use for bread, buns or pizza crust. It was one third maize, two thirds plain white flour with linseed and sunflower seeds for extra earthiness. To once raised dough I added a bit of warm water to make it softer and salami and Gorgonzola bits. Immediately divided into muffin portions in my silicone baking 'tin' they were raised again for 15 minutes in warm oven and than baked for about 20 minutes at 200 Celsius with small pan of water in bottom of the oven to keep pastries moister. Puffed, golden and with wonderful cheese bubbling on top they were quickly devoured with homegrown vegetable salad and some fresh yogurt drink.

Mama's got a brand new ... boot

... And not just any boot! Brand new gray summer boots with open toes and fancy straps. Shoes being one of my passions these really really made me happy and I'm already plotting and scheming plausible scenarios for wearing them.

Void

Sometimes, life is so beautiful that I get an urge to keep quiet, glassified in time like female mosquito in amber.
